This section holds non-normative research into GSM semantics. Systemics is the paradigm. GSM is a candidate systemics model under test. Research records evidence, hypotheses, unresolved tensions, and candidate outcomes. It does not inherit semantic constraints merely because they appear in normative artifacts.
Status vocabulary
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Exploratory | The problem and candidate semantics are still being investigated. |
| Hypothesis | A testable semantic proposition under investigation. |
| Change proposal | A GSM Change Proposal is under the process defined in GOVERNANCE.md. |
| Accepted | The proposal was accepted and is awaiting or undergoing normative integration. |
| Rejected | The proposal was considered and will not be integrated. |
Every research document must identify its status. Hypotheses remain non-normative unless and until accepted through the GSM Change Proposal process.
Research programs
Archetype referential model
Archetype Referential Model investigates namespaced identity, governed versioning, version-pinned references, static composition, and lifecycle eligibility as one connected contract.
Generative governance
Generative Governance is a governed research program with published quality criteria, numbered records, a case corpus, and a decision register:
- Causal Model - organization, purpose, function, and viability evaluations.
- Governance Chain - regulation, feedback, variety, and operational closure.
- DNA Production - autopoietic production of DNA and lifecycle handoff.
- Cases - executed discriminating examples.
- Decision Register - stable IDs for unresolved decisions shared across the dossier.
Promotion into GSM
Substantive changes follow the GSM Change Proposal process in
GOVERNANCE.md.
A proposal must state its motivation, selected semantics, affected normative
artifacts, and conformance requirements.
Implementation-specific experiments and impact analyses remain in their respective processor repositories. Reference implementations may retain temporary companion copies while active work depends on them; those copies are not normative GSM sources.
